In 2005, what started with an idea to help end world hunger by selling burritos at a restaurant in Canberra has turned into 300 restaurants globally in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the US and the UK. That one burrito has now helped donate over 80 million meals to those in need.
To celebrate the opening of our 300th restaurant location, we will be giving away 300 free burritos across all 300 locations globally. Mark it in your calendar and head into your local Zambrero and grab your free burrito on Wednesday 25th September 2024. T&Cs apply.
On Thursday 17 October 2024, volunteers across Australia will come together to pack over 430,000 meals for those in need. Our Zam Fam team members, franchise partners, suppliers and customers give their time, helping us achieve our goal at our meal packing events nationally.
Can't make it to a meal packing event? You can still help. Simply eat with us and you'll be contributing to our Plate 4 Plate Initiative. On Thursday, 17 October 2024, we'll be contributing double donations to Plate 4 Plate for every burrito, bowl or Kids Zam Box purchase. It was Jaydeep Gohil’s dream to build a multi-site burrito empire and he’s exceeded his own expectations. Jaydeep and his wife Anamika have surpassed their five-store ambition. The couple’s business, the Gohil Group, has in five years bought seven Zambrero restaurants in Western Australia at Mindarie, Beldon, Banksia Grove, Midland, Bassendean, Warwick and Yanchep. And there is no sign of the pair slowing down; the couple has plans in place for another two restaurants due to open this financial year.

Our Plate 4 Plate Day is full of our Feel Good Mex vibes! Zambrero's Plate 4 Plate Day is held annually in every state around Australia in October around World Food Day. It's also a big day for the Zam Fam. We call on our entire Zam Fam, fans and partners to volunteer to help pack hundreds of thousands of meals in each state across the country! We also double meal donations in every restaurant for participating orders which include a (big or regular) burrito, bowl and/or retail item sold.
