"
This year's report highlights just how many households are experiencing food insecurity for the very first time, and how reluctant these people are to ask for help, despite how urgently they need food relief. It's clear the cost-of-living crisis is exacerbating the challenges facing those in vulnerable circumstances, and forcing people to make compromises on what and when they are eating."

FoodBank Proudly Supporting
Zambrero Hunger Relief Partner

When Zambrero became aware of the alarming number of people going hungry right here in Australia, we knew we had to do something about it. That's why in June 2014, we extended our Plate 4 Plate initiative to support Foodbank, Australia’s largest food relief organisation, through the introduction of a range of Grab & Go products. Simply buy one of our delicious brownies, protein balls or packets of black rice and Zambrero will provide on meal to Foodbank for a hungry Australian.

What else does Foodbank do to fight hunger in Australia?

3.7 million households in Australia experienced food insecurity in the last 12 months. That's more than the number of households in Sydney and Melbourne combined.

Australia is in a food crisis, where 48% of the total population now feels anxious about or struggles to consistently access adequate food. * Foodbank is the largest food relief organisation in Australia and provides essential food and groceries to more than 1 million vulnerable Australians every month. To do this, Foodbank works with the entire Australian food and grocery sector including farmers, wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers to source fresh and manufactured foods, as well as personal and household care items for those in need. Last year, Foodbank source 45.6 million kilos of food and groceries which equates to 225,000 meals a day.
