"With 4 million Australians suffering from food poverty at some point in the last 12 months and charities reporting increased demand for food relief, we are grateful for our generous national donors, partners and supporters, like Zambrero, that help supply food and grocery relief to the 2,950 charities around Australia which work to feed the hungry."
Brianna Casey, CEO Foodbank Australia
When Zambrero became aware of the alarming number of people going hungry right here in Australia, we knew we had to do something about it. Currently Foodbank provides relief to over 1 million Australians every month.*
That's why in June 2014, we extended our Plate 4 Plate initiative to support Foodbank, Australia’s largest food relief organisation, through the introduction of a range of Grab & Go products.
Simply buy one of our delicious brownies, protein balls or packets of black rice and Zambrero will provide on meal to Foodbank for a hungry Australian.
What else does Foodbank do to fight hunger in Australia?
Foodbank is the largest food relief organisation in Australia. It is a not-for-profit that provides relief to over 1 million Australians every month. Currently 1 in 6 adults haven’t had enough to eat in the last year, and even more alarmingly 1.2 million children have gone hungry*. Foodbank works with the entire food and grocery industry, from farmers and wholesalers to manufacturers and retailers, to source fresh and manufactured foods as well as personal and household care items for those in need. Last year alone Foodbank sourced 48.8 million kilos of food and groceries which equates to 241,000 meals a day.
